‘‘Think where man’s glory most begins and ends,
And say my glory was I had such friends’’
William Butler Yeats
The honorary patrons of our 40th Annual Holiday Gala, Ireland’s Ambassador to the U.S., Daniel Mulhall and his wife, Greta, are great lovers of Irish Poetry. President of the WB Yeats Society of Sligo, Ambassador Mulhall (@DanMulhall) has tweeted a verse of Irish poetry every day for more than six years now, and lectured extensively on Ireland’s greatest poets, past and present.
As we prepare for the Gala, on December 12th, we invite you to join the Irish Ambassador and Joseph M. Hassett, one of the world’s foremost Yeats scholars, as they discuss the enduring influence of Irish poetry in America with Artistic Director Scott Tucker and read from some of their favorite verse.
This event is a benefit for Gala Supporters and Virtual Subscribers.
