Season Audition Sessions (Group Format)

To be held before the beginning of the 2026-27 Season for current and potential membership.

Symphonic Chorus Auditions

Tuesdays June 9 & 16, August 11 & 18

  • Tuesday, June 9
    • 7:00-7:45pm Bass (limit 20)
    • 7:45-8:30pm Tenor (limit 20)
    • 8:30-9:15pm Alto (limit 20)
    • 9:15-10:00pm Soprano (limit 20)
  • Tuesday, June 16
    • 8:00-8:50pm Tenor/Bass (limit 25)
    • 9:00-9:50pm Soprano/Alto (limit 25)
  • Tuesday, August 11
    • 7:00-7:45pm Soprano (limit 20)
    • 7:45-8:30pm Alto (limit 20)
    • 8:30-9:15pm Tenor (limit 20)
    • 9:15-10:00pm Bass (limit 20)
  • Tuesday, August 18
    • 8:00-8:50pm Soprano/Alto (limit 25)
    • 9:00-9:50pm Tenor/Bass (limit 25)
  • Singers should sign up for 1 session: a 45-50 minute time block.
  • Each session can accommodate up to 20 singers of the same voice part.
  • Singers will need to prepare two excerpts from a large work:
    1. Brahms Requiem – Movement 2, m.245 (12th measure of Rehearsal K) to m.290 (one measure before Rehearsal M)
    2. Chichester Psalms – Movement 1, m. 14-65. Note: Please use IPA and Practice Track resources provided in the Dropbox to prepare the Bernstein excerpt.
  • In the group setting, the Artistic Director will listen to these excerpts and do some light sightreading, voice pairings and hear individuals. This will determine if a solo audition is needed.

Chamber Ensemble Auditions

  • Tuesday, June 16
    • 7:00-7:45 SATB Chamber Ensemble Only
  • Tuesday, August 18
    • 7:00-7:45 SATB Chamber Ensemble Only
  • Singers should sign up for 1 session: a 50-minute time block. Each session can accommodate up to 25 singers.
  • Singers will need to prepare two excerpts of contrasting styles:
    1. To the Hands by C. Shaw, Movement 2, Rehearsal C-End
    2. An die Heimat from Drei Quartette (Op. 64) by J. Brahms, m.1-51
  • In the group setting, the Artistic Director will listen to these excerpts and do some light sightreading, voice pairings and hear individuals.

Please note: you must be in the Symphonic Chorus or be auditioning for the Symphonic Chorus in order to audition for the Chamber Ensemble.

Our Ensembles

The Choral Arts Symphonic Chorus is comprised of professional caliber volunteer Choral Arts singers.

The Choral Arts Chamber Ensemble is a project-based group comprised of singers from the Symphonic Chorus that audition to be chosen from a roster based on the needs of each concert.
