Family Christmas

Two performances at this exciting new venue bring holiday magic to Navy Yard. The family-friendly event is designed to welcome new audiences and create cherished traditions for families across the region.

This one-hour holiday concert is made for kids ages 4 to 13 and the parents and grandparents who bring them.

Artistic Director Marie Bucoy-Calavan hosts, with Mrs. Claus, a crew of elves, and a few reindeer helping her run the show. The Choral Arts Symphonic Chorus sings holiday favorites like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, and Here Comes Santa Claus, and three sing-and-ring-along songs let the whole room join in. The star of the show, Santa Claus himself, even makes an appearance!

Kids also learn how a choir works, meet the conductor, and get a look at Christmas traditions from Germany, our embassy partner for the season. Families can enjoy activities and treats at the venue for a suggested donation, and take a photo with Mrs. Claus.

Whether it is your child’s first concert or a tradition you are starting this year Family Christmas is a warm, welcoming way to spend a December day together.
